A Vault Ventures Weekly Recap

What a week! From real estate wins to lakeside work, we packed in plenty—and with the school year wrapping up and summer kicking off, things are only getting busier (and more exciting!)
Here’s the rundown from the last seven days:
️ Dock Duty at Sandy Hollow
- Successfully removed the old dock with the help of a Sawzall and some serious effort.
- Rolled out the new dock and tested the canoe purchased last fall—big upgrades we’re excited for guests to enjoy.
- Sadly, one kayak went missing and the paddleboat was damaged. Parts are on the way, but it’s a bummer after 8 years without issues.
- The raft was relocated to deeper water, lily pads cleared, and Alex reeled in a nice largemouth bass right from the dock!

Long-Term Rental Victory
- Our new Painesdale rental is leased! Another vacant home turned into a welcoming space for local renters in need of affordable housing.
️ Furnished Apartment Upgrades
- New couches added to Goose’s Hall and Kaleva East in South Range for expanded sleeping and relaxing space.
- A few traveling professionals have extended their leases through summer—no better place to be than the U.P. during its prime!
Real Estate Closings Incoming
- Two sales closing this week:
- One helping an out-of-state couple move to Hancock
- Another set of former Applebuddies closing on their first home in Houghton 拾
- The Hancock property has a 2-bedroom short-term rental that Vault Ventures may soon manage—stay tuned!
Sandy Lake Projects Brewing
- Our two new lakefront properties are getting prepped: a 2-bedroom and 4-bedroom option plus potential storage solutions on site. We can’t wait to share more!
烈 Mosquito Spray—Actually Worth It
- After spraying the Twin Lakes properties, we noticed a huge difference. Just stepping into a neighbor’s yard reminded us how rough it can be without it. We’ll be expanding this plan to other properties.
Family & Fun
- Alex heads off to Camp Michigamme for his summer job
- Raised Garden with Trellises in place and growing
- Quality time spent pond side chasing fish & dreams
- We’re building momentum on projects at home and at work—hard to keep up, but incredibly rewarding.
Don’t Forget to Breathe
There’s so much going on—personally, professionally, and all around—but remember:
“Even 10 minutes outside can reset your day.”
Check out these quick wins for summer bliss:
- ♀️ A walk along the Chassell boardwalk
- A lakeside stroll in Houghton or Nara
- Stargazing on clear nights (we’re thinking about adding telescopes to Twin Lakes rentals!)
