Signs of Change and Seasons of Giving

The first blanket of snowfall is always beautiful — a soft reminder that another season has turned. While this dusting won’t last, it signals change in the air. Wildlife begins its migration, colors fade to white, and the landscape takes on that unmistakable stillness that only fall-into-winter can bring.
This weekend found us helping serve a First Responders Thank You meal hosted by Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming. It’s always a privilege to give back to those who give so much. During the trip, we caught glimpses of late-season travelers too — a pair of swans floating on Keweenaw Bay, holding off their journey south, and plenty of ducks still dotting the waterways. Just outside Alberta, a lone coyote trotted along the roadside, unbothered by the wind and sleet.
Today’s agenda includes assisting and attending an Autism Awareness event at the Rock House in Houghton and a few home showings later this evening for a new client. Even with slick roads and melting snow, the sun has come back out — a little metaphor that the good always shines through.
Here’s to embracing the transitions — in seasons, in weather, and in life — and to finding time to serve others while appreciating the beauty in every change.
