Spring Slowdown = Project Season

This is the time of year we have a love-hate relationship with.

Furnished rentals slow down—which isn’t great for income—but it opens the door for what really drives long-term growth: upgrades, renovations, and improvements.

The challenge?
More money going out than coming in… and this year, even more on the plate than usual.

The timing of Chassell Adventure Cabins & Campground pushed a couple months later than expected, which stacked projects on top of an already busy schedule. But that’s how it goes—adapt and keep moving.

The good news? Progress is everywhere.

Here’s what’s happening right now:

  • Kaleva Apt #4 – Reset and back online
  • 🔨 Adventure Cabin #3 – Furniture arriving, punch list shrinking fast
  • 🔥 Jake’s Addition (Ark Renovations) – Paint, cabinets, backsplash done, shower nearly complete

Next up:

  • Adventure Suite B
  • Adventure Cabin #1

From there, we shift gears again:

  • Sandy Lake Retreat – Flooring upgrade (carpet → vinyl plank)
  • Chassell Apartments 7 & 8 – HVAC updates + layout changes to create legal bedrooms

And once the snow finally clears:

  • Campground prep with Four Season Solutions to level and gravel sites

It’s a lot. No way around it.

But this is the season where the foundation gets built. The work being done right now sets up everything for summer—and beyond.

We’re also getting ready to roll out something we’re excited about:

👉 Our Campground Booking Site (powered by CampSpot) will be going live this week.

They’ve made the setup incredibly smooth, and soon we’ll be able to:

  • Share direct booking links
  • Promote sites more easily
  • Get everything in front of travelers planning their UP trips

We’ll share more on that soon.

For now, it’s head down, keep moving, and start rolling out completed units one by one.

👉 What projects are you tackling this spring—business or personal?
👉 Do you prefer the busy season… or the building season?

Cheers to a busy (and productive) spring.
