Double Digits & Wild Sightings: A Week in Motion

Oh man—what a week. You can always tell how wild things have been when I have a dozen new ChatGPT discussions just to keep up!

This week marked a milestone:
We submitted double-digit offers for the first time in a single week. Not all of them were accepted (yet), but as I always say—sometimes you’ve got to swing the bat a few times before you land a hit.

 We toured a bunch of homes, met some amazing new clients, and even heard from a few familiar faces who are ready to make a move—literally and figuratively. The real estate world keeps spinning, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

Wildlife Watch
This week brought some incredible (and sometimes unexpected) visitors:

  • Fawns crossing fields
  • Eagles overhead
  • Partridge and a sneaky weasel
  • Another coyote
  • And yep—a black bear making an appearance!
(Still working on not taking wildlife photos while driving—officers tend to frown on that.)

️ Rental & Property Updates

  • New traveling professionals arriving—some staying 3 months, some 2 years!
  • Concord Duplex needs a new tenant after a sudden life change—2BR, 1.5BA, open and available now!
  • We’re also working toward purchasing the second half of that duplex soon.
  • Both Sandy Lake Retreat & Lodge are up and running with updates underway.
  • And yes, the first Firearm Deer Season reservation is officially in! 

Fishing & Family Goals
This week also marked a personal shift—trying not to spend every day working on properties.

  • Mornings will include 2 fishing trips a week
  • Evenings: picnic dinners, family time, evening fishing and maybe a few walleye for the freezer
  • We’re also planning a trout run to Skandia’s Chocolay River—maybe next week or the following… maybe both weeks!

️ Project List Snapshot:

  • Finish Jake’s rear apartment
  • Flooring & appliances at Kaleva Apt 8
  • Drain repairs at the Laundromat building
  • Tinker with a solar river pump at the Chassell Homestead pond
  • …and that’s just scratching the surface!

Back Camera Report:
Skunks (boo), raccoons (of course), and no fawns or antlers lately… but they’re out there.

The list is long. The days are full. But this life we’re building? It’s worth every minute.

Cheers, and adventure on!
