Sandy Hollow Gets Summer Upgrades

You know it’s truly summer when the smell of Deep Woods Off hangs in the air and your first sunburn of the season starts to sting. That unmistakable combination hit me today—and it instantly reminded me why we do all of this. Summer is here, and we’re making the most of every warm, bug-filled, sun-soaked minute.

This past week at Vault Ventures has been full of progress, projects, and fresh energy. Here’s what’s been happening:

New dock installed at Sandy Hollow Vacation Home.
We got the new dock in the water and it’s a total game-changer. The old one is coming out Friday, and seeing them side by side really highlights the upgrade. The fish were jumping, but we didn’t have time to drop a line—soon though!

Fresh overhead dog lead installed.
After a long winter, we retired the old one and replaced it with a sturdy, new setup for our four-legged guests. Let the tail-wagging adventures continue.

Screened tent set up for bug-free hangs.
The screened tent at Sandy Hollow is up and ready for morning coffee, family games, or evening wind-downs without the mosquitoes.

New long-term rental in Painesdale shown to potential tenants.
We’re excited to have this space nearly ready to welcome someone new. It’s another great addition to our rental offerings.

Four raised garden beds built at the Chassell Homestead.
We’re adding trellises tomorrow and planting the starters that have been thriving all spring. We can’t wait to see what grows.

️ Coming soon: 10’x16′ screened deck office.
This will be our new work-from-pond HQ. Expect updates from a bug-free zone with water views and fresh air inspiration.

It’s easy to get caught up in the to-do list and miss the magic of the moment. Today’s sunburn and bug spray reminded me: this is what summer’s all about. Progress. Play. Sunshine. And a little sweat.

Whether you’re fishing, planting, hiking, or just sitting quietly with your feet in the water—make time for it. This season goes by fast. Adventure on, friends. 
